BD-Live is the new interactive feature of Blu-ray. The X-files BD-Live feature is called “The X-Files Dossier: Agent Dakota Whitney Files,” which allows users to search the files of the film’s characters. I will also start publishing the latest news and discussion again after a few days off. The reason I didn’t report any of the news or reviews is because I didn’t read any of it, I wanted to go into the film “clean”.

Several sites are now reporting that X-Files I Want to Believe made between 4 and 5 million on Friday and is on track to make $12 million for the weekend. Most will consider this is a disaster and some are already declaring the franchise dead. That may in fact be the case but it all depends on Fox’s expectations going in. With a small budget of $30 million and very little marketing, this film should still make a decent profit when worldwide box office and DVD sales and rentals are factored in. So if Fox is committed to slowly reviving the franchise with a series of small films, that certainly can be done. If they were expecting a blockbuster, then it looks like that may be it for X-Files fans.
